The first event of the Winter Skateboard Series went on today with sunshine/rain/sleet/snow outside. Inside the tunes were pumping with some passionate skateboarding going down. Young and old skaters cheered on each other as each challenged themselves on the transitions and above the coping. Spectators were entranced by the level of stamina, balance and coordination each individual.
Skateboarding in Salmo is such a grassroots activity and totally supported by the Salmo Valley Youth & Community Centre. Today’s event aimed to bring awareness to the awesome facility in the old school. This volunteer run space is open multiple night per week giving everyone an opportunity to break the day to day humdrum with some swell times
Thanks to Neil, Tom, Melanie and Jamie for their efforts in keeping everything on point. Also props to Ripping Giraffe Boardshop for the prize pack and sk8shoes4kids for the food/drink donation.
